Oh, Deepening Forest

Oh, deepening forest of evergreen glee

Spare us a home in your enchanting dark breeze

I dream of a log house hidden in trees

Of sunlight and moonlight falling through leaves

 

Oh, my lovely maiden, fair and sweet!

If you knew just how long I've been longing for thee

It´s your voice that reminds me of sparkling bright streams

Of peace in the woodlands, of singing in spring

 

I dream of a window opened to the wind

Of nights of warm love between covers of stars

I dream of our loving in those lands afar

Surrounded by strange sounds outside in the dark
